ABSTRACT
This study investigates potentials of Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) in driving technological development in Lake Chad Basin, Nigeria, through Private-Public Partnership Approach, with a focus on water resource management and sustainable fishing practices. Both primary and secondary data were obtained with the application of survey method with the aid of checklist through interview to elicit information from the respondents. The study underscores the critical role of government support and policies in facilitating successful partnerships and promoting technological development. The study emphasizes the need for building trust, improving communication and ensuring transparency in private-public partnerships to harness the penitential of traditional ecological knowledge for sustainable technological development. Recommendations are made for leveraging fisher’s traditional ecological knowledge for technological development through a private-public partnership approach in the study area.
